The Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock will be the site of the Simmons Bank Championship, a new annual PGA Tour Champions tournament beginning in October 2024.
Miller Brady, president of the PGA Tour Champions, made the announcement on Thursday at a press conference at the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in North Little Rock. Little Rock professional golfer Glen Day was in attendance, as well as Arkansas native Ken Duke, 10 days after winning his first PGA Tour Champions at the Shaw City Charity Classic in Calgary, Alberta.
The tournament will be the first PGA Tour Champions event held in Arkansas. The Simmons Bank Championship is initially a five-year partnership between Simmons Bank and the PGA Tour Champions.
“We expect it to be much longer,” Brady said. Simmons Bank, which sponsors the Simmons Bank Open on the Korn Ferry Tour in Nashville, wanted to add to their portfolio here in their hometown of Little Rock, he said.
